Most homes and plots in Uganda still change hands through word of mouth, roadside signs and forwarded WhatsApp photos. Land is held under four systems (mailo, freehold, leasehold and customary), and the paperwork isn't always easy to read. Many people have met at least one of these:

What we can promise, and what we can't.
We can't promise
- that every listing is accurate;
- a clean title, or that a property is free of disputes;
- how a deal will turn out. Property is still a real-world transaction.
What we've done about it
- put partner lawyers on the ownership documents;
- made every check visible, with a report you can read;
- labelled paid listings so they're never confused with checked ones;
- given you a Report button on every listing.
None of this makes property risk-free, but we think it makes the process a little clearer. Always view the property and use your own lawyer before you pay.
